Hello Chapter "A"
Boy oh boy, what a great time we had in the month of July. The rides we share and the fun just keeps on growing. August is going to be just as fun and exciting, so here goes the schedule for all of you to join in on the fun.
Let's first talk about the ice cream rides. Every Wednesday at 7:00 pm, we leave from McDonald's on 14 Mile & Van Dyke. Bob Fathers, Ride Coordinator, puts together a great ride to our ice cream destinations. This month we will be going to the Dairy Queen in Clarkston, Mr. R's in Capac, Charlie Brown's in Almont, and Cheryl's in Algonac. When you come on the rides you have the opportunity to win a free ice cream. Don't forget that the Chapter buys ice cream once a month for all of you that come.
Sunday the 3rd is going to be something new for the Chapter. The Chapter is working with Leatherworks to support the Great Lakes Burn Camp for children. The Great Lakes Bun Camp is a special place for kids to meet, heal, grow and support other burn survivors. The kids share their stories and bond with other children in a comfortable, relaxed environment. Unconditional love and acceptance is only part of what each camper receives at the camp. The camp strives to remove all barriers that may keep children from participating in events and activities. The campers also receive well-balanced meals and 24- hour medical supervision. for $20.00 per person. If you are planning to attend and we hope you are, we will all meet at McDonald's on 14 Mile & Van Dyke. We will be leaving at 10:30 am sharp.
Chapter "A" is having their annul picnic on August 10th. We will be having adult games, kid's game, laugher, fun, and all the delicious food that everyone brings. This is going to be a wonderful day for all the Chapter members old and new to get reacquainted or to make new friends. We would sure like to see you at Dodge Park in Sterling Heights, at 12:00 pm.
Last year we start a new ride The Surprise Ride. It was a great success so we have decided to have it again this year. What is nice about this ride is you don't know were we will end up, and what surprises await your when we get there. See all of you on Sunday, August 17th. We will be leaving at 10:00 am from Denny's.
Just a reminder, get your entry form in for the Region "D" Rally in Tiffin Ohio. The Region Director has extended the Pre Registration date to August 15th. So there is still time to send it in. We will be wearing our red shirts and vests at opening and closing ceremony.
Please remember when you are out riding to be safe, and to use all the knowledge that GWRRA has taught us. See you at the Gathering on August 7th.

services are managed by the Camp Nurse. The camp also provides transportation to and from the camp. This ride is going to be a Poker Run. It is going to be $20.00 per person, and all the proceeds go to sending a child to the camp. Registration will start at 10:00 am. The first 150 people to register will receive a Free T-shirt (so come early), along with a great ride, and YES there is an ice cream stop. We will announce the top three hands after we enjoy a wonderful spread of food (a pig roast). We are hoping all of you can come out to support this wonderful charity. Chapter "A" and all the other chapters from GWRRA that are attending will meet in the Meijer's parking lot at 26 Mile & Van Dyke at 10:30 am.
On Saturday the 9th, Chapter "S2" is having their picnic. For anyone who has never been to the picnic, all you have to do is ask someone who has gone. This Chapter really knows how to put on a feast. A great ride, great food, cold beverages, games, and prizes are just what all of us like to on a warm Saturday afternoon in August. You will receive all of this
