LARRY AND PHYLLIS ALMAS

Larry is originally from Greenville, Mi.  He lived there until his family moved to St. Louis, Mo., his senior year of high school.  That is where we met.  I lived there all my life until the fall of 1978 when we were married.

 

Larry came with his son, Shaun, so we had a ready-made family.  We had two more sons, James and Curtis.  From these boys we now have three grandchildren whom we adore.

 

We rode motorcycles when we were young, but as the kids came along the riding went by the wayside so we could raise them. 

 

Then in 2000, with the kids grown and gone, we got back into cycling.  We met Al & Nancy Pierson when they stopped to help us with a brake problem we were having on that first bike.  We went to a chapter meeting and met Dan & Billye Dulyea and Chris Persinger.  We became members of G.W.R.R.A. in October, 2000.

 

We have made many more good friends and gotten some of our “old” friends to join G.W.R.R.A. and helped the chapter grow.  We have hosted the Anniversary Breakfast and the Christmas Party each year.  We have served as Ride Coordinator, M.E.D. and are now the Assistant Chapter Directors.  We are so proud to have been chosen as the Couple of the Year.  Thank You G-2!

 

UPDATE:  Larry & Phyllis have now moved to Nashville, Tn. And joined TN-Chapter A.  They have started some new friendships that we know will grow.  They want their “friends up north” to come down and join in the fun there whenever they can!
