Past Events:June 28—Homemade Ice Cream Fun Run—

The weather kept members from camping at Bob & Kim’s.  Friday, some members went to Scott’s early and got ready for the fun run and then went to supper, while others met at 6:00 to help and the work was done.  Clark & I didn’t make it early and ended up meeting Barb Marrison at Scott’s.  Being the rest were gone to supper, we put together the newsletters until they got back.  The next day, we all met at 9am to get the final details done.  We started the ice cream makers and for some reason, the ice cream took longer than expected to get done.  We had Roland & Jennifer, our ADD’s, Chapters V, Q2, Y & U2 represented and a few outside friends.  Rod Frye brought his band in from 10-3, and the music was very nice.  Council on Aging had volunteers scheduled about every hour of the fun run.  Linda & Annie, from Gladwin City County Transit , took care of the 50/50 for the day.  When it was time to serve the ice cream, they had a couple more helpers.  Deb & Sandy D. run the registration table while Jody took care of the door prizes, special drawing and Rider Ed tables.  Glenn went to M30/M61 corner to explain the fun run and how it was to work at each stop.  Clark & Sandy were in charge of the ice cream.  Barb Marrison helped with the coffee and dessert table.  Denny brought a large ice freezer to keep the ice cream in when it was done.  The rest just helped where they were needed.  Thanks to Bob & Kim, what was needed, they could help get for us.  And a special THANK YOU for the use of their building and property for this event.   So to all a big Thank You, we couldn’t have done this event without the help and donations of prizes.   Jan Smith sent us a pair of Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls.  Jody’s dad made another clock.  Dick & Sandy made bird houses and feeders, a blanket and with the help of Bud, a quilt rack.  Jody & Sandy made pot
