one. You will have to see the pictures from the party. Rick & Jeanette looked cute. Maybe more can plan to attend next year. Oct. 15—Clark had a city meeting so we didn’t attend Chapter V’s gathering but found out at Paul’s memorial on Saturday that Deb & Glenn went and brought Lucky home after singing a song. Deb said they probably wouldn’t ask them to sing again. On October 13, we learned that our past CD, Paul Murray, went into the hospital in Midland on Saturday night after being brought home from up north at their cabin and was on a ventilator and none responsive. By Wednesday, Paul passed away. Paul’s memorial was going to be on Saturday the 18th so we couldn’t attend Chapter U’s anniversary luncheon for which Clark & I had planned to attend being I didn’t have to work that Saturday. Our deepest sympathy goes out to Sandy and her family in the loss of husband, father and grandfather. Paul lived to ride and had rode quite a bit up until his death. He had been taking chemo and still rode into Gladwin to catch a ride to Midland for his chemo. That is pure determination to do what he liked doing. Paul & Sandy came into our chapter and shortly after became the Assistants, then becoming Chapter Directors for two years and that was almost 6 years ago. I was Paul’s assistant. Paul and Sandy joined Chapter Y shortly after stepping down from being CD for J2. Oct. 18—Paul Murray’s Memorial with JC Csutoras officiated. JC’s words were everything Paul was and did well in memory of Paul. Some of his friend’s also told a couple stories about Paul. There were a few bikes at the memorial with a dinner following at the Gladwin Ea |

gles. There were around 30 members of GWRRA. There were also 20 of the former Gladwin Independents group. Some of Paul’s friends from the BMW’s came also. With bikers and family and friends of Paul’s, his memorial was well attended. Paul will be missed. Oct. 21—Dinner at the former Dinner Bell in Mt. Pleasant. Glenn & Deb were the only ones to attend. Clark had worked late again and we had our granddaughter. Mady had had her shots and wasn’t feeling the best so I didn’t bring her out. —————————— The Scott’s Go Cruzin by Bob & Kim Scott A friend of mine bumped into me at Mc D’s yesterday and asked if this was the last day I planned to ride this year. Maybe, maybe not! My reply was “never say never.” Not that we haven’t been blessed with the good health and great weather to put together our highest yearly mileage ever in my 50 years on two wheels, we can always use another smile or two. We started our year early in February, planning a first ever trip to the Smokey Mountains for the end of June. We tried to allow for enough time for me to recover from a knee replacement done on March 10. We were out and about early enough to make the Maple Syrup Festival in Shepherd, even if my girlfriend of 50 years had to help me lift my leg over the bike! June came and off to Gatlinburg we went. If you don’t know about the “Tail of the Dragon”, go to www.tailofthedragon.com . We rode 260 miles in one day at approximately 35 MPH and were completely exhausted. We watched a play in an outdoor theatre the next night in Cherokee, NC and rode |
