Vehicle City Wings

Michigan Chapter K, Flint

"Gold Wing Road Riders Association"

Chapter History

Chapter Name

Until recently we were known only as Michigan Chapter K.  After several discussions, Chapter K members decided we needed some kind of name that would depict the area in which Chapter K members live and work.  Years ago there was an arc in downtown Flint that read Vehicle City, and this arc has recently been reinstalled on Saginaw street in Flint.  Because of this, Chapter K is known as “VEHICLE CITY WINGS”.

Chapter Chartering

On May 12, 1983 Chapter K officially became a chapter of GWRRA.

Chapter Creation

In late ’82, four couples; Bob and Betty Payne, Bill and LouAnn Eplitt, Wayne and Donna Witt and Grant and Alice Davison got together to form the chapter.  A few others; Marvin and Carol Smith and Marvin Freeman joined in the fun soon afterwards.  Of course, these are only a very few that made up the membership of this chapter.

Spin-Offs

There have been four spin-offs from chapter K’s chartering.  As a result, Chapters B2, E2, F2 and Q2 were formed.
