GWRRA - GREAT LAKES REGION

November 2008

Cecil and Helen Bowers should be in Arizona by now or at least in a warmer state. They rode their bikes all the way out there, they always have put them in a trailer and towed them behind their pick-up truck. I have not heard from them yet but I do expect to soon. I only hope they have a long and hot winter down there. See you both in the spring to ride with us again.
As you all know by now, Cecil and Helen have stepped down as our ACD's. (Assistant Chapter Director). Now, this poses a small problem for our Chapter. We need an A.C.D. soon so they can step up to the office of C.D. (Chapter Director). Our Chapter rein will be over in one year. It is difficult for someone to start out as a C.D. without being an A.C.D. first. Do we have anyone interested in being a Chapter Director for Chapter L next year ?????
I'm hoping to bring some new ideas and information home from the fall officer's meeting in Bay City. Dave and Jan Smith and Vicki and I will have been up there to meet the new State Staff and attend the classes on Sat. the first of Nov. It is hard

Remember to VOTE Nov. 4th. That is the day of our Chapter Gathering (5:30/6:30) at Flapjack's. Isn't this a good way to start a newsletter ? Well, I don't really care if it is or not but at least you now have a reminder to vote and to come to the Gathering.
The weather is turning toward the winter season and the bike riding season is all but over for the year. Time to think about storing your bike for the winter. Now is the time to start planning on that C.P.R. or that First Aid class you have been putting off. Also to start thinking about what things and events or rallies you would like your Chapter to do on the calendar next year. We need some new ideas and some people to lead us in them. Our first Chapter event in the warm weather is our Chapter Picnic in the park in Mason.  At this time I do not have the exact date of that but it will be on a Sunday in May of '09. The best thing about this is that it is FREE to all.
