big turkey dinner. This time of year it never hurts to stay in practice at the table.
It does look like we, Vicki and I, will be here for the winter season this year. Last year we were in TX. But with the condition of my folks I will have to stay here and you will have to put up with me. Believe me at this time of year it is a lot warmer in TX. I'm sure the winter will go by real fast won't it ???
I want to thank all in Chapter L for the support you have given Vicki and I this past year, especially Merlin Hopkins.  As I mentioned we were in Texas last year and he did step up and cover me. We could not have done it without your help. Everyone stepped  it up a couple of notches.
We will be selling bike tickets again this year with Mike Goodknecht handling the coordination of the ticket sales like he did last year. It looks like we will be selling tickets as a group at the R.V. Show on Jan. 22-25 at the M.S.U. Pavilion. We have done well in the past so stay tuned for a chance to do your time block of helping out. I am asking everyone to please try to sell 100 (or more) tickets on top of the group sales we do plan to have. We will be raffling off some tickets during our dinner gathering during the winter, so bring some extra cash to win some easy bike tickets.
On Dec. 2nd at Flapjack's, we have our Chapter Gathering at 6:30 and Dinner at 5:30. The Saturday following, Dec. 6th we are having our annual Christmas Dinner in Potterville where we had it last year. Set-up at 4pm, social at 5 and eat at 5:30. The Chapter will furnish the ham and everyone else doing a potluck. Table service and drink, ( coffee/punch ), will be furnished. This year we are doing a donation to the local food bank in Lansing in lieu of exchanging any presents. This will continue throughout the next year on a volunteer basis. Also we will be playing

some cards and some other games after the ham dinner. I am still looking for a chess partner for a good game of chess.
In this last year several in the Chapter have at some time or another have won some money and some prizes. We had some fine contests going on all summer, thanks to David and Jan Smith. This next year we will have some more prizes and contests to try to win. Gordon Quinn won a nice prize at our last gathering, he won a new installed bike tire donated by Grove's. THANK YOU GROVE's... We meet at GROVE's for most of our rides in the summer plus for our ice-cream ride on Tuesdays. When we want to purchase something remember GROVE's, they benefit and we benefit also. So throughout the year don't forget the people who help us.
During this winter we will be having several from our Chapter in the warmer climate down south. I think we have everything in place to handle all that has to go on in their absence. David and Jan Smith will be heading south and John and Max will be headed that way too. Cecil and Helen are already in AZ.
Chapter L wants to wish you all Happy Holidays and remember Dec. 21 is the shortest day of the year and all the days after that will be getting longer. In just 4 months we will be back to riding again.
