PROPER RIDING GEAR
Whether you are just learning to ride or you're already an experienced biker, remember to always wear your safety gear. Have you ever fallen off a bicycle? Scraped skin from the road on your hands, knees, and elbows occurred at slow speed, but the speed of the motorcycle is going to multiply that pain thousand-fold. Your essential safety riding gear should be at least: - Helmet - Full, three-quarter, or half face helmet DOT Approved - Gloves - full fingered leather gloves are the best - Goggles or sunglasses - shatterproof - Boots - shoes or boots should be over the ankle and of course leather is best - Long pants - most riders wear jeans and that's fine. Just remember that jeans will only protect you to a point. Leather pants or leather chaps over the jeans will give better protection. - Leather Jacket - a long sleeve shirt and leather coat are the basics. A long sleeve shirt will at least protect you from things like sunburn. A jacket equipped with body armor and padding, along with gloves that have armor and padding certainly are more protective. For any GWRRA-sponsored rider education or competitive riding event, this gear is required. They do not apply to any "non-educational" or "non-competitive" riding activity,
